The Fox Nation Series - Who is Hunter Biden? Part 1
Who is Hunter Biden? is a cheaply made film series made up of still images, a voiceover actor reading passages of Hunter Biden’s autobiography Beautiful Things: A Memoir, along with interviews with mostly right-wing political pundits and propagandists.
Voice actors also sometimes recite text messages or emails while the same scandalous images of Hunter Biden shuffle on repeat. The entire endeavor is narrated by Judge Jeanine Pirro, her sledgehammer alto voice heavy with intrigue.
To call it a documentary would be an insult to filmmaking. This series feels more like a flip book of static images peppered with interviews of people who have never met Hunter Biden. This was slapped together and churned out for the most devoted Fox fans. Everything about it is intended to shock and offend.
Most of the images and content were pulled from hard drives that allegedly came from a laptop computer belonging to Hunter Biden. Some photographs are snapshots of the Biden family and others are obvious stock photos of things like a rocks glass of scotch or a pile of money.
As I break these episodes down I’m going to put most of my focus on the experts in the film rather than the details about the laptop. Plenty of other media outlets have written about the Hunter Biden laptop but my focus has always been how Fox News spins a story.
Episode 3 - The Porn Star
Judge Jeanine Pirro gave another one of her incredibly dramatic introductions. At the top of the episode he’s poised as if to start an actual horror film.
Judge Pirro’s piercing voice adds a subtle comic effect to the entire enterprise.
“When Joe Biden announced he would not run for president in 2016, everyone assumed his long political career had come to an end. The question for Hunter Biden, who relied on leveraging his father's positions, was how would he fund his family obligations? High flying lifestyle and relentless addiction? As his father embarked on his last year as vice president. Hunter holed up in his D.C. apartment. He was an utter basket-case,” said Pirro.
