Happy Let's Blame the Democrats Day on Fox News!
A condensed overview of 14 hours of Fox News for the week ending 11/30/25
The folks at Fox News thought they were going to have an easy time with holiday programming last week with stories about pajama wearing travelers, Thanksgiving leftover tips and pre-taped shows filled with recycled segments. In between the holiday fluff the network put most of its focus on segments bashing Democrats, worshiping President Trump and what it called the “Seditious Six.”
By mid-day Wednesday the on-air talent at Fox News immediately pivoted to cover a targeted domestic terrorist attack on National Guard troops in Washington D.C.
Nearly every talking head at the network immediately blamed Democratic lawmakers for the violence even though there was no evidence that the shooter, an Afghan national, was motivated by left of center politics.
Fox News was so lazy in its coverage of the tragedy that the network included a pre-taped episode of The Five for Thanksgiving that made no mention of the attack. That evening it re-aired The Patriot Awards, a Fox Nation special, in place of its regularly scheduled primetime lineup.
I was expecting at least episodes of Fox News Live, the breaking news show for the network but the Fox stuck to its original plan for the holiday and decided to only air episodes that included live news coverage mid-day and late night on Thanksgiving.
Shows I covered on Fox News Last Week:

The Five Celebrated the White House Meeting between Zohran Mamdani and Trump
On Monday the folks on The Five saw the White House meeting between Zohran Mamdani, the mayor-elect of New York City, and President Donald J. Trump as a huge win for the unpopular president.
“I think Zohran is kind of in the fog of war right now, and the only ally he has is Trump. So Trump knows that and Trump bails him out in that fascist thing, which was really, really nice. He said, you know, you were thinking, okay, is this “Godzilla versus Mothra?” No, it’s really Batman and Robin, and we know who Batman is, and we know who Robin is. And when he says, don’t worry about it. That was his way of saying I bailed you out. Also, that little moment there with Trump basically said the word fascist is just meaningless. I don’t care if you use it. You can call me at I don’t care because really it doesn’t mean anything,” said Greg Gutfeld.
Gutfeld was making a reference to a 1992 Japanese kaiju film “Godzilla versus Mothra.”
Jesse Watters tried to bait his liberal co-host Jessica Tarlov.
“Jessica, why don’t more Democrats come into the Oval Office and try to work together on things that they have common ground with, with Donald Trump?” said Watters.
Tarlov answered masterfully using specific examples.
“Well, a few very big deal Democrats like Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer came into the Oval and they were greeted with MAGA hats. And then, sombrero videos, you know, Trump grinning at him like that was completely unexpected, but definitely was a picture that I don’t think he’ll be enjoying. As campaign season rolls out, because he is giving up the talking point that New York City is going to be a hellhole. He even said, you know, I think conservatives are going to be surprised by how well things are going to go there . . . But Donald Trump has called him a bunch of bad things, and he just stared at him like how he looks at Satan in South Park,” said Tarlov.
Kellyanne Conway also framed it as a huge win for Trump.
“He’s the charmer here. He’s charming this guy who hasn’t even taken office yet, and he’s hoping that this guy will not follow through on some of his radical ideas. Hope that he will rethink some of his non radical ones. And for a movement, Jessica that talks about ‘No Kings’, he got Trump sitting there like royalty and the guy looking like he’s going to go get him a Diet Coke,” said Conway.
To many of Trump’s critics the president looked like someone who was easily charmed by a charismatic and skilled politician. He appeared like an empty vessel who quickly tossed out his previous criticisms when faced with someone who could easily manipulate him.
The ‘Seditious Six’
Until the terrorist attack in Washington D.C. on Wednesday Fox News put most of its focus on what it called the “Seditious Six.”
On Wednesday November 19 six Democratic lawmakers, all military veterans or former members of the U.S. intelligence community, created a short video where they urged active duty U.S. military service members to defy illegal orders.
Donald J. Trump responded on social media by calling the video “seditious behavior, punishable by DEATH!”
He later walked back his statement saying he was not calling for their execution. According to reporting by the BBC, following his social media posts, Trump told Fox News in a radio interview: “I’m not threatening death, but I think they’re in serious trouble.”
“If you look at sedition”, Trump continued, “that’s a form of, a very strong form of being a traitor. It’s a terrible thing to say, I must tell you.”
On Tuesday’s edition of Hannity hosted by Kellyanne Conway, the former senior counselor to the President, implied she knew more about military ethics than Senator Mark Kelly, a decorated veteran.
Fox News producers opened the segment with a clip of Kelly speaking on The Rachel Maddow Show from MS NOW.
“You’re required to follow all legal orders. You’re also required not to follow illegal ones. And I think most people can figure out, you know. Just take some common sense in what would be an illegal order. But I think it’s important for people to know that they need to be able to stand up and speak out,” said Kelly.
The producers cut back to Kevin Corke, a Fox News Washington correspondent in studio with Conway.
“Shouldn’t have done that. It should be noted that neither Kelly nor any of the other so-called seditious six have ever pointed to any specific illegal order that’s come from the President and Kellyanne the real problem here is, especially for Mark Kelly, you have to deal with the Pentagon now. They’re very clear instructions for what you can and can’t do and say he could be in a heap of trouble. We’ll find out together soon,” said Corke.
Kevin Corke has never served in the U.S. military. Kellyanne Conway’s background is primarily as a lawyer, political commentator specializing in polling and politics. Conway does not have any experience serving in the U.S. military or working as a military lawyer.
“I think that’s so fascinating, Kevin. In this age of social media screeds and sound bites over substance. I don’t know if these folks realize the heat they’re under now because they’re having a video. By the way, Mark Kelly, a senator, a former captain, astronaut in the Navy. He makes it seem like an order whether you think it’s a legal, legal is a subjective judgment call. So, he’s put that in there to a plaintive anchor on MS NOW but that can’t possibly be true,” said Conway.
Andrew McCarthy Destroys Trump’s Case Against The Seditious Six
On Tuesday on Fox & Friends Andy McCarthy, a former Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and frequent legal expert for Fox News shared his opinion on the ‘Seditious Six’ video.
“Yeah, this is one of the dumbest controversies I really wish both sides would. Take it down a notch. The Democrats, if they want to complain about lawless orders, should specify what orders they’re talking about. That’s perfectly reasonable. But in a country with the First Amendment, they’re allowed to make even incorrect statements as it happens. It’s a correct statement of law to say that troops don’t have to follow illegal orders, and you’d never be able to make a case out of that. At most, what you would have if they were truly interfering with the carrying out of lawful orders, you’d have insubordination. You wouldn’t have anything like sedition or insurrection, which requires, like, a violent uprising. So I think the Democrats are wrong to have put pitched this the way they did. The reaction to it is a way, way overreaction. And we’d be better off if both sides just took it down about 11 notches,” said McCarthy.
Trump has praised McCarthy in the past and cited him as top legal expert.
Jessica Tarlov Pointed Out that Making Mark Kelly a Target Could Backfire
Later that day on The Five Jessica Tarlov, the liberal voice on the program, pointed out that Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) is the type of Democrat that could cause real problems for the Republican Party.
“The video is explicit that you should not obey unlawful orders, that actually your sworn duty is to the Constitution, not to a commander who’s asking you to do illegal things. We’ve talked about this now three days in a row. So three days in a row, I’m going to say it would have been more ideal if there was specificity about the type of orders that you are hearing from lower ranking officers that they’re concerned about. So, if that Venezuelan boat strikes, like, why did General Holsey resign from the Southern Command?” said Tarlov.
“You don’t know,” said Greg Gutfeld interrupting her.
“I’m I that’s why I said why. It’s in the form of a question,” said Tarlov.
“You’re just speculating,” said Jesse Watters.
“And you’re right. He just wanted to spend more time with his family,” said Tarlov sarcastically. Both Watters and Gutfeld shouted over her. “Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump addressing that meeting of generals and saying, you’re going to have to help us clean up these blue cities, those kinds of things. But to Greg’s point about, you know, you shouldn’t be elevating these people. They are doing exactly the wrong thing in Greg Gutfeld’s mind, because now the face of the Democratic Party is Mark Kelly. It’s not Zohran Mamdani you have Donald Trump smiling at Mamdani. And you have Mark Kelly, who’s a decorated veteran who is married to basically, like the equivalent of an American saint in Gabby Giffords, who’s won a purple state, has hugely high favorability. And now people are talking about the fact that the Democratic Party is represented by a guy like that. I’m personally thrilled. That is what my party is, the party of Mark Kelly’s out there,” said Tarlov.
Fox News Desperately Tried to Blame Democrats for a Terrorist Attack
On Wednesday afternoon a gunman shot two National Guard troops outside the Farragut West Metro station in the District of Columbia. The shooter was shot and injured by other National Guard members on the scene and quickly identified as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, an Afghani national who entered the U.S. as part of Operation Allied Welcome in 2021.
Lakanwal and his wife and children were allowed entry into the United States due to his history of working with the CIA and U.S. forces in Afghanistan. He was thoroughly vetted by U.S. officials before he was allowed in the program.
He was granted asylum in April 2025 four months into Trump’s second term.
Lakanwal’s motive is still unknown but friends of the shooter told The NY Times that he was showing signs of mental illness before the attack. He might have been suffering from PTSD from his time fighting in Afghanistan.
The folks on Fox News immediately blamed Democrats. That night on Hannity Kellyanne Conway said she thought it was related to the ‘Seditious Six’ video.
“When you are telling folks in the military, in the Intel community, they can defy what they subjectively believe to be an illegal order from our Commander in chief of the United States. People are being called Nazis. Gestapo. They’re spitting at ICE agents and doxing them. They’re. They’re against border patrol. They’re not backing the blue,” said Conway.
Stephen Miller, deputy chief of staff for policy and the United States homeland security advisor, also placed the blame on the minority party.
“The Democrat Party is engaged in a nonstop campaign of vilification against the National Guard, against the armed forces, against ICE, against federal law enforcement. They have incited and fomented a nonstop wave of domestic terrorism,” said Miller.
Conway continued.
“Delegitimize the National Guard, and then they dehumanize the guardsmen and guards women. And it’s surprise, surprise, no one yet shock us. And sadness all the same.”
Richard Staropoli, a former Secret Service special agent blamed Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX).
“Just yesterday, Jasmine Crockett went out and tried to compare the National Guard in the U.S. military to slave patrols, specifically targeting Black people and migrants. What do you think is going to happen when these people are given those opportunities to go out? Of course, they’re going to go out and shoot the first National Guardsmen, the first cop that they see.”
Kellyanne Conway later interviewed Victor Davis Hanson, of the Hoover Institute, about his thoughts on left-wing violence.
“You recently wrote a piece called insurrection insurrections, chic, where you make the case that the left is fomenting a kind of violence and a Trump Derangement Syndrome writ large. That is, in fact, dangerous. And here we are,” said Conway.
Hanson named specific Democratic elected officials.
“We had Governor Pritzker, we had Governor Newsom, we had Nancy Pelosi. We had mayor-elect Mamdani all saying that state or local law enforcement would confront ICE. And they that was anti-constitutional. So the illegal immigrant says, well, maybe the there’s going to be people on my side. And when you call ice as people have Nazis and Gestapo or slave patrols, what did they think was going to happen?”
Conway continued her tirade against Democrats.
“We all have Democrats in our lives, of course, family, friends, colleagues. When did that party start coddling criminals and vilifying law enforcement and vilifying victims? . . . Travis, isn’t there a direct nexus, a through line between defund the police, fire them up like pigs in a blanket, vilifying dehumanizing our ICE agents. And what happened today?”
Tudor Dixon, a failed Republican candidate for the governor of Michigan and podcaster used the most heated language.
“Across the board. Democrats have blood on their hands today, and they need to come out and say they’re going to ratchet down this rhetoric.”
Spec. Sarah Beckstrom, a 20-year-old National Guard member died from her injuries from the attack on December 1st. The other victim Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe remains hospitalized.
The likelihood that Lakanwal was inspired by Democratic lawmakers seems slim but that wasn’t going to stop anyone at Fox from demonizing the minority party.
Before the shooting many military experts and National Guard members worried about the safety of National Guard troops deployed in Washington D.C. and other urban areas.
According to reporting by The New York Times U.S. military commanders issued internal directives to National Guard troops in Washington D.C. of a “heightened threat environment,” and that “nefarious threat actors engaging in grievance based violence, and those inspired by foreign terrorist organizations might view the mission as a target of opportunity.”
Another memo used the language “additionally, civilian populations with varying political views may attempt to engage.” A memo dated August 12, from D.C. National Guard, said that the mission ”presents an opportunity for criminals, violent extremists, issue motivated groups and lone actors to advance their interests.”
The National Guard is not supposed to fill a law enforcement role and a federal judge recently ruled that the deployment of National Guard troops to the District of Columbia was likely illegal.
Stories Fox News Ignored
Every week I compare the hours I’ve watched on Fox News to five hours of the PBS News Hour. The following list are stories that PBS covered that Fox News did not. This list has been slightly truncated due to space. Source - PBS News Hour transcripts.
Updates in the Israel-Hamas Conflict
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation is permanently ending its operations. In a statement, the U.S.- and Israeli-backed group claims it was the only aid operation that reliably and safely provided free meals in Gaza. But its operations were shrouded in secrecy and its sites were marred by violence. Hundreds of Palestinians were reportedly killed by Israeli troops as they sought aid, though Israel maintains it only fired warning shots to control the crowds. (PBS News Hour)
Hospital officials in Gaza say at least 24 people were killed in Israeli strikes early last week. Israel says it was responding to gunfire on its troops. Authorities in Gaza told the News Hour that the strike targeted displaced Palestinians. (PBS News Hour)
In Lebanon, thousands attended the funeral for Hezbollah’s top military commander who was killed in an Israeli strike in Beirut. Israel has been stepping up its attacks on Lebanon in recent weeks as it tries to push the country to move faster in disarming the militant group. (PBS News Hour)
In Gaza, heavy winter rains have turned roads into rivers. Tent encampments now sit on swamps of mud and sewage water. Palestinians blame their miserable conditions on both Israel and Hamas. Aid agencies say they’re worried the rainy winter months will only worsen the humanitarian situation on the ground with supplies already running short. (PBS News Hour)
A 16-year-old Palestinian American was released from an Israeli prison after spending nine months in captivity. Mohammed Ibrahim was reunited with his father on a road in Ramallah in the occupied West Bank. The Florida native was only 15 when he was arrested in February during a raid on his family’s home. He was charged with two counts of throwing objects at moving vehicles. His family says he pleaded guilty and is now receiving medical treatment at a local hospital. (PBS News Hour)
The Israeli military says it’s investigating the West Bank shooting of two Palestinian men as they appeared to be surrendering. Video aired on Arab TV stations show them being led back into a garage before they were shot. A Palestinian official says the men were executed in cold blood. Israel says it’s been stepping up its offensive against militants in the area. (PBS News Hour)
Republican Senator Jim Justice and his wife have agreed to pay nearly $5.2 million in overdue taxes. The settlement was disclosed just hours after the Justice Department sued the couple, alleging they “have neglected or refused to make full payment” for taxes dating back to 2009. Once dubbed the only billionaire in West Virginia, Justice has seen his net worth dwindle to, as Forbes magazine put it, less than zero. The former two-term governor owns dozens of businesses, but has faced a series of challenges in recent years over debts and unpaid bills. (PBS News Hour)
As the holiday season begins, food banks across the nation are still struggling to keep up with the need. That’s partly fueled by the disruption in SNAP benefits during the government shutdown, but there will also be more restrictions and cutbacks coming. PBS interviewed managers from food banks and charities across the country along with Americans who rely on charities that supply food assistance. (PBS News Hour)
In Southern Thailand, severe flooding has killed at least 33 people since relentless monsoon rains began late last week. Thailand’s prime minister declared a state of emergency for the worst affected Songkhla region. More than two million people have been displaced. (PBS News Hour)
In the West African nation of Guinea-Bissau, soldiers say they have taken “total control” of the country days after elections in which both presidential contenders claimed victory. A military spokesperson said on state media they acted because of an ongoing plan aimed at manipulating the election results. The electoral commission was due to announce its initial findings the day before the coup. Instead, the military has suspended the electoral process, closed the country’s borders and instituted a curfew. It is just the latest in a string of coups or attempted coups since Guinea-Bissau’s independence from Portugal in 1974. (PBS News Hour)
The Army has sent out approximately 2,500 patient notification letters to women examined by one doctor within its ranks. It’s part of a massive investigation into cases of alleged sexual abuse, all patients of 47-year-old doctor and Army Major Blaine McGraw. He’s an OB-GYN at Fort Hood in Texas and before that at an Army base in Hawaii. Approximately 80 women have filed a legal complaint against him. One case alleges that McGraw “used his position of trust to sexually exploit, manipulate and secretly record women under his care.” (PBS News Hour)
Viola Fletcher, the oldest living survivor of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, has died. Fletcher was just 7 years old when a white mob destroyed the Greenwood district of Tulsa, once known as Black Wall Street, killing hundreds, burning businesses, schools and churches, and leaving as many as 10,000 people homeless. Fletcher carried those memories for more than a century. In her later years, she became a national witness to history, speaking with students and journalists and testifying before Congress. Fletcher was one of two survivors who sued the state of Oklahoma seeking damages from the city. Last year, the state’s Supreme Court rejected their case, dealing a serious setback to a decades-long fight for reparations. Viola Fletcher was 111 years old. (PBS News Hour)
