Pay No Attention to the Last Election! - Everyone Loves the Glorious Leader!
A condensed overview of 25 hours of Fox News for the week ending 11/9/25
Last week Fox News minimized the blue wave of Democratic wins across the country to a ripple of stale water in a plastic kiddie pool. According to the folks at Fox Americans still loved and adored the glorious leader, Democrats were expected to win anyway and the Republican Party ran a bunch of poor candidates.
The only thing the network conceded was that Trump could improve his messaging on the economy. The term ‘referendum’ appeared 20 times in the transcripts from last week. Each example was some form of “this election was not a referendum on Trump.”
As Martha MacCallum put it on the night of the election, “It’s the economy, stupid, ends up being the simple story of a lot of elections.”
Jesse Watters responded by lying about inflation while Brian Kilmeade claimed Trump just needed more time to let his policies in the One Big Beautiful Bill work their magic for the U.S. economy.
Laura Ingraham barely kept it together as she predicted the fall of New York City under the Marxist, socialist, communist takeover of the charming millennial Muslim Zorhan Mamdani.
Kayleigh McEnany declared that he was “telling voters a basket of lies.”
Nearly everyone on the network predicted that the newly elected mayor of New York City would cause a schism in the Democratic Party that would ultimately lead to Republican domination.
Other major stories included an hour-long interview with Erika Kirk of Turning Point USA and extended memorial segments dedicated to the political career of former Vice President Dick Cheney.
Shows I covered on Fox News last week:
Fox & Friends - all three hours on Tuesday
The Five
Hannity
The Ingraham Angle - Tuesday and Wednesday
Election Night Special - three hours on Tuesday
Special Report with Bret Baier - Tuesday and Wednesday
Jesse Watters Primetime - Wednesday
Several Trump appearances
A Blue Wave in the Off Year Election is BAD NEWS for Democrats
The day after the off year elections the folks at Fox did their best to make it seem like it was a disaster for the Democratic Party.
“Democrat sweep in key races in Virginia, New Jersey and in New York City with the focus on affordability,” said Rachel Campos-Duffy on Fox & Friends.
Her co-host Lawrence Jones read the words of Mark Penn, a Democratic strategist, from a recent op-ed he wrote for Fox News Digital.
“Democrats win the moment, but the left wing tilts threaten their future . . . This is the big issue now for the Democratic Party is how far left it will drift under the influence of Democratic Socialists. The 2028 presidential primaries could become a defining battle for the direction of the Democratic Party.”
Later on The Five Greg Gutfeld also thought Mamdani would cause problems for the Democratic Party.
“Obviously, the Socialist takeover, but it ain’t good for Democrats either, because this is going to be around your neck. It would in terms of an albatross.”
His co-host Emily Compagno held nothing back when she discussed the newly elected mayor.
“Donny gave Democrats a new leader, and that is a joke. What he is, is a child that is only viral and he’s a virus.”
On Special Report with Bret Baier the lead legit news anchor commented on a divide within the Demoractic Party.
“Even though Democrats won big in the off year elections last night. There is a party divide.”
Laura Ingraham predicted a great exodus to red states.
“Democrats are, in a way, losing because they’re going to simply drive more people to the red states where life is easier, safer, and less expensive.”
Her sidekick of sorts Raymond Arroyo was even more dramatic.
“A Democrat and an actual communist jihadist. A literal Karl Marx quoting, American hating jihadist.”
Sean Hannity was equally histrionic.
Democrats just elected a radical Marxist. The bad news? Democrats like Mamdani are picking up traction elsewhere in the country.”
Laura Ingraham and the New Red Scare.
Ingraham opened her show on Wednesday night with a night minute monologue full of paranoia and fear mongering. I removed all of the media clips she included of Mayor-elect Mamdani
“Tonight wasn’t a Democrat wipeout of Republicans so much as a socialist wipe out of the Democrat Party. . . It sounds so appealing, appealing to voters who were either not born here or who were taught to resent American history and our way of life. And of course, social media snippets can make socialism seem so cool. It can make communism see doable. Disaffected minorities and the proletariat will finally get their due. . . .But peel back the onion and Mamdani is just another seething leftist acting out on his messianic mission of soaking the rich and hating on Trump. . . he doesn’t sound like a mayor elect? He sounded like he was pretending that he, not Kamala, was running against Trump last year . . .
Now where did Mr. Genial Mr. Approachable go? We told you not to believe his smiling socialist routine. . . It’s spoken by a man, by the way, who has never had to make a payroll, but neither had AOC. And look at her. The leader of the modern day Democrat Party. She’s giving everyone their marching orders. Now, this is a good time to remember just how far to the left the Democrats have moved. . . .Translation watch your wallet because he and AOC are coming for it. And a supercharged nanny state that will tell you what to do, when to do it, and how much it will cost. And establishment Democrats, they’re taking orders to submit to the socialists or move aside. . . Problem is, most Americans don’t even really know what communism is. They’re not really taught it in schools. Instead, they’re taught that capitalism begets corruption. And they’re taught, of course, that resistance is cool. Agitating is noble and that no immigrant is illegal. Ignorance, which Mamdani exploited all the way to victory. . .
Yeah, he’s basically calling for an ongoing insurrection against ice there, the crime of interference with federal law enforcement, encouraging rioting. It’s the hard left’s party to run as they wish now. And you either line up behind their agenda, you’re going to get booed off the stage at the 2028 convention if you’re even invited at all. . . We need to be as aggressive as the Democrats. Socialists are on all fronts. Otherwise, Republicans will be playing a very dangerous waiting game, perpetually on the defensive, picked off one by one by smiling socialists who rule like Soviet tyrants.”
Brian Kilmeade - Just Give Trump More Time!
The morning after the election on Fox & Friends Brian Kilmeade had a number of excuses for Trump.
“This president has been in business nine months. You know, the big beautiful bill was not is out there. Nothing’s been implemented on it. That’s his economic program he put all into one. So he pulled the he’s pulling the rubber band back. He has not let go of it yet. So if it’s going to be if he’s going to bring down the costs, we’re not going to know until January when his budget gets into play.
The tax cuts come in. The tax incentives go into play. And that’s when the energy will start seeing what we’re doing with energy on natural gas and oil and everything that will bring down utility costs. In theory, if the big beautiful Bill doesn’t produce, there’s going to be an ugly midterm. If it starts producing, things will work themselves out.”
Jesse Watters Lied About Inflation
On The Five Jesse Watters either lied about inflation or had no idea what he was talking about. It’s hard to tell with him if he is ignorant or knowingly deceiving his audience.
“The Democrats had a great night. I want to sugarcoat it a little bit, though. These were all blue states. Trump didn’t campaign there. He didn’t spend money there. And the candidates Republicans ran were not very good. Full stop. With that said, the economy is still the number one issue, and Trump is in a very good job digging us out of the Biden hole. Inflation is down to 3%, gas prices are down and wages are up.”
These data are from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
According to FRED (Federal Reserve Economic Data) the price of gasoline is slightly higher now that it was during the last month of the Biden administration. The cost of gasoline fluctuates due to a number of factors including supply and demand as well as the cost of crude oil.
The latest price on this chart $3.019 per gallon is from November 3, 2025. I found similar data for gasoline prices on the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Nancy Pelosi is Retiring And the Folks at Fox are Hopping Mad!
On Thursday Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced she would not run for reelection. Fox News hosts reacted with outrage. Fox News has to keep its viewers in a constant stage of rage and indignation.
The cast of The Five started the pile on. They were on stage in an auditorium in front of a live audience in preparation for that evening’s presentation of The Patriot Awards.
“The Wolf of Wall Street is cashing out. Nancy Pelosi not running for reelection after 40 years in Congress,” said Jesse Watters.
Producers then cut to a clip of the president speaking from the Oval Office.
“I thought she was an evil woman who did a poor job to cost the country a lot, in damages and in reputation. I thought she was terrible,” said Trump.
“She’s like a band that stayed on stage for too long,” said Will Cain
“Absolutely. And I looked up some things that she had said. First, we all remember the State of the Union 2020 when she ripped it. She ripped the State of the Union,” said Kayleigh McEnany.
Then in a move that was obviously pre-planned a camera operator zoomed in on a tight shot of Jesse Watters.
“In honor of Nancy leaving,” Watters said as he ripped papers as Pelosi had at the end of Trump’s SOTU speech in 2020. The live audience erupted in applause.
That evening Jason Chaffetz was sitting in for Sean Hannity for a special edition of Hannity.
“Despite what you might hear from her adoring fans in the liberal media, Pelosi is leaving behind a sad and destructive legacy. On multiple fronts . . . Pelosi created a mess in the Washington swamp. Nancy Pelosi, what’s going to be her legacy? Because everything I saw from her was just anti-Trump. She got she. She defined Trump Derangement syndrome. . .Pelosi will soon depart public life, but not before participating in another pointless but harmful political stunt, said Chaffetz.
Miranda Devine of the NY Post called Pelosi a coward.
“Nancy Pelosi and the octogenarian elders and establishment of the Democratic Party who have been cowards.”
The next night Charlie Hurt, sitting in for Sean Hannity on Hannity thought the announcement of Pelosi’s retirement was a two-day story.
“Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi is finally retiring. And as it turns out, a lot of people are happy to see her go,” said Hurt.
Rep. Brandon Gill complained about Pelosi’s age. I wonder if he would have felt the same about Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA). Grassley is seven years older than Pelosi.
Grassley has also been a U.S. Senator for 43 years.
“Nancy Pelosi was first elected eight years before I was even born,” said Gill.
Steve Hilton, a Republican running for governor in California and frequent guest on Fox News added George Soros to the mix because why not?
“You know, you had the corrupt Democrat machine of Pelosi and Newsom and the government unions, huge amounts of money, George Soros bringing in the money, and they made it all about Trump.”
What Do Voters Think of Trump?
According to an aggregate poll compiled by The New York Times Trump’s approval rating sits at around 41% with 55% of voters disapproving of his job performance.
Trump’s approval rating is lower than Biden, Barack Obama, and George W. Bush for the same point in their presidencies.
The president only scored slightly higher than he did at this time during his first term.
Second term +14 disapproval - day 297
First term +17 disapproval - day 297
Stories Fox News Ignored
Every week I compare the hours I’ve watched on Fox News to five hours of the PBS News Hour. The following list are stories PBS covered that Fox News didn’t. This list has been truncated due to space. Source - the PBS News Hour transcripts.
Gaza’s Health Ministry announced plans to vaccinate some 40,000 Palestinian children against diseases like measles and polio. The campaign is set to start next week. Also in Gaza humanitarian groups and locals say that, while supplies are getting in, more is desperately needed. (PBS News Hour)
Famine has spread to two regions of war-torn Sudan. The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification, that’s the leading international authority on hunger crises, says El Fasher and the town of Kadugli are experiencing starvation, extremely high levels of malnutrition and death. The group says 20 other areas are also at risk. Meantime, relief workers in Northern Sudan are preparing for an influx of displaced people after El Fasher fell to RSF paramilitary fighters last week. A U.S. envoy tells the Associated Press that a truce is being negotiated in the hopes of ending the violence. (PBS News Hour)
U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres says the war in Sudan is spiraling out of control after paramilitary forces took control of a vital city in Darfur last week. Speaking in Qatar today, Guterres called for an immediate cease-fire in the two-year conflict. Meantime, in North Sudan, those who escaped the bloodshed in the city of El Fasher received much-needed medical aid and described the violence they left behind. (PBS News Hour)
Authorities in Israel detained the military’s top lawyer, a two-star general, and accused her of leaking a video that allegedly shows Israeli soldiers assaulting a Palestinian detainee. The saga renews an intense debate about how the legal system treats Israeli soldiers and Palestinian detainees. The alleged abuse was caught on camera on July 2024.. In the footage Israeli soldiers forced a Palestinian prisoner into a corner, where behind riot shields, the prisoner is allegedly sexually assaulted. The abuse goes on for several minutes. (PBS News Hour)
President Trump announced that he’s nominating Jared Isaacman to be the administrator of NASA. This is the second time Trump has put forward the billionaire businessman for the role. As president-elect, Trump initially pitched Isaacman late last year, but then pulled the nomination in May amid a public falling out with Isaacman’s close ally. That’s SpaceX boss Elon Musk. Isaacman will need to be confirmed by the Senate to take up the role at NASA. (PBS News Hour)
In Los Angeles, an immigration raid involving a toddler is raising new questions about the tactics being used by immigration agents. The L.A. Times obtained a video that shows agents apprehending a 32-year-old U.S. citizen as his toddler sits in the car. Two heavily armed masked agents then drive away with the child in the back seat without the father. In a statement, the Department of Homeland Security says the man had exited his vehicle wielding a hammer and threw rocks at law enforcement. He was arrested for assault. An immigrants rights group says the child, who turns 2 in January, has been reunited with family and is safe, while adding the family is obviously traumatized by the incident. (PBS News Hour)
Separately, in Chicago, Democratic Congressman Mike Quigley posted a video online, which he says shows a preschool teacher being dragged out of her school. The woman is believed to be from Colombia and was reportedly heard saying in Spanish: “I have papers.” A DHS official responded by saying Quigley had misrepresented the facts and that the officers were carrying out a “targeted traffic stop” of an illegal alien who had fled inside. (PBS News Hour)
The Supreme Court is letting the Trump administration block transgender and nonbinary people from choosing their own gender identity on passports for now. The decision pauses a lower court order that required the government to let people choose male, female, or X on their passports as a lawsuit on the matter plays out. (PBS News Hour)
A jury in Virginia has awarded $10 million to Abby Zwerner, the former teacher who was shot by her 6-year-old student in 2023. Zwerner’s attorneys had argued that a former assistant principal at Richneck Elementary School ignored repeated warnings that the child had a gun. Zwerner was shot in the hand and chest as she sat at a reading table in her first grade classroom. She spent nearly two weeks in the hospital and no longer has full use of her left hand. The assistant principal, Ebony Parker, faces eight counts of felony child neglect. Her trial is set for later this month. (PBS News Hour)
Layoffs across the nation soared last month. That’s according to outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas, which reported 153,000 job cuts in October. That makes it the worst October for layoffs in more than two decades. (PBS News Hour)
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban says his country has received an exemption from U.S. sanctions on Russian energy, though the White House has not commented. Orban is a reliable advocate for Russia in the European Union and his landlocked country relies heavily on Russian oil. Orban announced the exemption after meeting with President Trump at the White House. The two men are longtime allies. (PBS News Hour)
In Vietnam, Typhoon Kalmaegi left at least five people dead and thousands of homes damaged before weakening into a tropical storm. Heavy winds and rain brought down trees and power lines, leaving more than 1.6 million households without power. Earlier this week, it ripped through the Philippines, where the death toll has risen to at least 188. Another 135 people are still missing, and the country is bracing for another typhoon due early next week. (PBS News Hour)
This week, a task force dedicated to fighting antisemitism reportedly decided to cut ties with the conservative Heritage Foundation. It comes after the think tank’s president, Kevin Roberts, defended Tucker Carlson’s interview with a far-right, antisemitic activist. The infighting has laid bare a growing schism within conservative circles over how to address antisemitism. (PBS News Hour)

I would probably become a regular Fox viewer if they changed their name to something more truthful like the Fox Comedy Network! My personal favorite from among this week's many nuggets of pure gold:
"[Nancy Pelosi's] like a band that stayed on stage too long," says Dean Cain (a guy who last starred in a show you might have actually watched in 1997!)
