This podcast episode offers a searing, day-by-day breakdown of how Fox News covered—or strategically ignored—the economic fallout from Donald Trump’s chaotic tariff policies. In contrast to PBS NewsHour’s steady reporting on market volatility, foreign policy, and global affairs, Fox spun a week-long alternate reality. From Sean Hannity’s fixation on “radical Democrats” to Judge Jeanine Pirro’s Cadillac anecdotes, and Jesse Watters’s bizarre gender theories, the network deflected blame, downplayed the threat of recession, and elevated Trump as a bold negotiator—even as markets tumbled. The analysis shines by pairing Fox’s disinformation with PBS’s factual reporting, exposing the network’s deliberate omission of key global events, including the Israel-Gaza conflict and economic relief efforts in Myanmar.

So many things are ignored on Fox News such as the following:

The plight of Mahmoud Khalil, Badar Khan Suri, Rebecca Burke, Alfredo “Alex” Orellana, Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, Suguru Onda, Rümeysa Öztürk (and all the cruelty involved in this)

Donald Trump's off-hand remark, "Americans are next," caught on video, has sparked widespread speculation and criticism [1].

Trump's corrupt scheme to profit from his tariff policies through his investments in Truth Social [2].

House GOP's No Rogue Rulings Act, an attack on constitutional checks and balances, aiming to limit judicial review of presidential executive orders [3].

The CDC's decision to lay off cruise ship inspectors raises alarms about potential health risks, especially amidst a norovirus surge [4].

An executive order from granting him excessive control over future elections [5]

Consumers facing "tariff surcharges" on some goods as companies pass on the costs resulting from the Trump administration's tariffs [6].

Fox News—and, regrettably, much of mainstream media—is not covering the ongoing surveillance and harassment of Puerto Rican communities, where 2025 ICE raids—possibly enabled by facial recognition tools like Clearview AI—have raised urgent concerns about civil liberties, political targeting, and unchecked state power [1-4]

Quote: “the dragnet surveillance outlined by Ton-That during the company’s earliest years may already be underway. (ICE did not respond to a request for comment” [5]

Fox news is not a news network. It mostly spews propaganda [6]
