There has been a lot of media attention recently in regard to the succession battle for Fox News once Rupert Murdoch is out of the picture. I would be interested to know what you, as someone doing a really deep dive each week on the network, think might happen in the post-Rupert years.

Rupert’s son, Lachlan, has been running the company since Nov. 2023 and I’ve seen absolutely no difference in the content. He basically has the same politics as his father. His brother doesn’t but he wasn’t appointed the head of Fox. Lachlan was. There might be another battle after Rupert dies but right now it’s business as usual.

My focus is on the content Fox News puts out. This is absolutely never discussed on the network. They have had a few brief segments about the Murdoch family in the two and a half years I’ve done this work and they’ve been glowing. I do deep dives every week but this topic is not discussed.

Interesting that the Murdoch family is rarely if ever discussed on the network. But as you point out each week, there is an awful lot of real news that Fox seems to miss!
